The Jack Russell Terrier

The Jack Russell Terrier is a special and unique dog. The major objective of the JRTCA is to preserve this type of working terrier known as a Jack Russell with its outstanding natural hunting instincts, special character, outstanding intelligence, and unique individuality, as it has been bred for the past 150 years. All who seek adventure with this feisty little terrier should remember that the Jack Russell Terrier is first and foremost a hunting dog.  It is not the dog for everyone. You are encouraged to learn as much as possible about the Jack Russell, and carefully evaluate whether it will suit your lifestyle (or rather, that you will suit the lifestyle of a Jack Russell!), before you make the commitment to purchase.

There are many publications available through the JRTCA which will further enhance the knowledge of the purchaser. In all matters, the buyers must be aware of the many variations in the breed, and make a selection based on knowledge gained through this publication and other sources. And, of course, personal preferences.

This Directory is an advertising tool for JRTCA breeders. The JRTCA does not endorse the breeders listed herein, or the quality of their produce, outside of the requirements stated in the JRTCA Code of Ethics.

The test results listed in the ads have not been verified by the JRTCA. Please contact the breeder for documentation.
