We would like to thank our American, South African & English breeders.

We owe a great deal of our success to America’s Debra Ellis Ransom. We obtained through her British National Reserve Champion in Conformation, Sayner’s Smudge, several David Jones dogs, Mazie, George Jones, Loblolly Jim, and our 1997 National Puppy Conformation Champion, Farmstead Digit.

In 1999, Sandhi Rogerson bred and shipped from Johannesburg, South Africa our two Treesbank girls.

In 2005, Brian Male of England bred and flew Foxnorton Puggy, our sweet stud dog whose sire, Garnicol Punch, was bred by Bridget Sayner and is related to Britain’s famous Billbridge Weed.

In 2009, Anu Makela and Greg Mousley of England shipped us both their Meynell-Sundance Sazzy, our lovely dispositioned hunting momma by parents Snatch & Duffy and also Martyn & Liz Hulme’s Rushill Jay by parents Dodge & Maggie, our hunter-agility queen.

We have visited many wonderful breeders who have opened their homes, hearts and kennels to us. They were very gracious indeed! Thank you all.

Black Brush

Black Brush is a small kennel dedicated to producing and raising a well-rounded Jack Russell that can work in the field, compete at a JRTCA trial, or live the life as a cherished pet. All Jacks have correct conformation raised with kids, goats, cattle, chickens, and lots of other Jacks! I strive for Jacks with a “go get ’em” temperament. All puppies are PLL, SCA, and DM clear by parentage or tested before they go to new owners. BAER testing is also performed before they leave. I am located between San Antonio and Laredo, TX in the heart of the South Texas Brush Country. My working lines have produced several proven blood-tracking dogs. All puppies leave micro-chipped! We have been happily owned by our Jack Russells for over 27 years and we cannot imagine life without them! We are committed to producing a well-rounded terrier that has correct conformation and a great temperament. Our passion is to raise the All-Around Athlete. Performance of our terriers is what we strive for, be it in the field, competing at a JRTCA trial or just playing at home! I am out with my terriers just as often as possible in the field or at a trial. I am always excited to help anyone get more involved with their terriers. There is nothing more fun than working with your terrier doing what they naturally love. Our pups are raised in our home and experience many different challenges from a very young age. All of our dogs are health tested and the results can be found on the JRT Health Registry website. They are well-socialized, ready to join your family as a companion and/or competitor.
